I am an optimist
There are many difficult problems piled up for human beings. However, Mr. Morita thinks optimistically that if human beings make positive effort, there is no problem that cannot be solved.

Mr. Morita is a positive, happy person by nature. Facing various problems, he never thought negatively even once, through his school days, naval force days, and after he established Sony.

He has overcome barriers by his strong will and efforts all the time. Maybe being affected by Mr. Morita, the whole company of Sony is full of cheering and progressive energy.

Now, technology was advanced, however, there are piles of various problems on the planet. Quite a lot of people consider that pessimistically. How does Mr. Morita see this situation?

Mr. Morita thinks that any problem can be solved with human technology. For instance, the problem of starvation or energy, those are not unsolvable problems, considering from the experiences of human beings. He says that taking those problems negatively is the problem, if only you make positive efforts, you can solve any difficult problem.

He is not in leisurely as you may imagine from the word “Optimism”, but at any hand, he never feels blue or gets depressed. He says “I don’t have such time” and always goes all over the world like a bird.

At the very end of the book “MADE IN JAPAN”, he wrote, Mr. Morita strongly insists that the future of human beings is glorious and the effort of human beings is required for that.

“I believe that there will be a glorious future for human beings. Respectful advances in technology are promised for the future and I believe that it will enrich people’s lives all over the world. (abbr.) I am an optimist. If only we make our best efforts, then a peaceful and great future will be ours without question. I am sure that such a world has almost come right in front of our eyes.

We are making efforts for that. What a wonderful challenge! If we succeed or not just depend on our strength of wills and efforts.”

Mr. Morita has the power and largeness to persuade people, in these sentences, we will also feel the power to make us believe so.
